Disappointing: Reports Unclear Whether Jessica K. Likes Me

By Jim Aeneid

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Subsequent to the passing-back of a note during social studies class, it is still unclear whether Jessica K. likes me or not. The note was originally written after teacher of the 6th period class, Mr. Thompson, began the day’s video.

Composed in the archetypal format of “Do you like me? Check: ▫️yes! ▫️no 😦

▫️maybe… “ the note was handed back with a check next to the ambiguous selection.

Reports from the row behind Jessica K. state that she chewed on the end of her pen before making her mark and returning the note to its original, carefully folded state. The note was then passed two rows up to the sender without being unfolded by Denise, who is notorious in this class for snooping.

Additional data gathered suggest that Jessica may have dotted the “i” in “Pass to Jim” with a heart when re-addressing the note, but declined to comment on the matter. This data would not be in conflict with other third-party accounts, which state that Jessica definitely has a crush on someone and their name starts with a J but she won’t say who it is.

Completely oblivious to and uninterested by these events was Mr. Thomson, who promptly fell asleep after beginning the video.
